December 6, 2007: We left Manila/It was a departure I will never forget. For once, I was aware I was leaving the city. This time, it is leaving the city as if it is for good. This is not a vacation. This is an escape. A breakaway from the repetitive, toxic and cantankerous landscape of the urban life. I planted an image to my mind a picturesque view of what to expect in Boracay. Beauty worth paying for.//

We arrived at Bora on Thursday evening. I will never deny that I have fears of deep water. I don’t know how to swim, so the image of death is already painted on my mind’s canvass. But the travel went smoothly. Thanks to Bonamine and the overdosed thought of Boracay beauty. I didn’t puke./

bora_4.jpgActually, there are more foreigners than Pinoys. Cool no? It’s so flaterring to see foreigners appreciate the beauty of our land. The ambience, the mood the serene yet noisy sounds of the waves are far better than the artificial mp3s I hear while having a foot spa.

The sand is fine. Not fine as in mediocre or acceptable, but it is powdery fine. Like a polvoron, the Boracay sand is magnificent, it is like a giant bed of polvoron, only salty.

The food is expensive, the drinks are expensive, and the stuffs for pasalubong are expensive. Good thing I was able to develop my bargaining skills. I am so looking forward to my next trip.

Damn, I was so busy this year. I have been to Baguio/La Union/Benguet, Antipolo, Batangas, Laguna, Tagaytay/Cavite, Pampanga, Mindoro, Kalibo for my adventure. I am so excited to fill my travel diaries with explorations to Palawan, Bohol, Batanes and Mactan.

But I have to learn how to swim first.

Bye for now.

And damn it. We still don’t know what the third English word ending in -gry is? Any help?
